Supervisor- Maintenance Night Shift

Details: JOB TITLE:                 SupervisorDEPARTMENT:           Employment Services – Service ContractsREPORTS TO:            Vice President of Employment ServicesSTATUS:                      Full-TimeSCHEDULE:                 Night ShiftLOCATION:                 US Army Corp of Engineers – CERL Champaign, IL. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  Supervises and coordinates the work of employees engaged in cleaning and maintaining CERL office complex to ensure a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean environment.RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS:  This position holds direct supervisory responsibility over all employees of the CERL Maintenance Contract. TRAVEL REQUIRED:            Less than 15-20%.SPECIFIC ACTIVITES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Inspects and supervises work completed by cleaning staff; Cleans a portion of the office complex as one of the responsibilities of a working supervisor; Develops, implements, and oversees a work schedule of general maintenance and upkeep; Maintains a regular schedule of all mechanical inspections and servicing needed, as well as preventative maintenance activities, Keeps records of all inspections and key maintenance activities; Prepares and maintains all Quality Assurance and Quality Control reports as stipulated in the CERL contract; Projects and reports the need for major repairs to Contracting Officer Representative (COR) at CERL; Assists with recruitment and selection of cleaning staff; provides daily supervision and prepares evaluations and goals for assigned staff; makes recommendations regarding hiring, firing, training, advancement, promotion, or other changes of status; Monitors inventory and re-orders supplies; may pick up hardware and materials for special projects; Checks daily to insure that all designated exit doors and panic hardware are functioning properly, and all other exit doors are secured; Performs troubleshooting and simple problem solving and makes recommendations to Contracting Officer Representative (COR) when outside technicians are necessary; Trains  staff to use equipment properly and safely, including industrial vacuum cleaner, floor scrubber and sweeper, polisher, etc,  as appropriate to the task; Performs all duties with an attitude of safety and consideration for people with visual impairments; Performs other duties as assigned by Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and supervisor.
