Regional Safety Manager

Details: Regional Safety Manager Edison, New Jersey SBM is searching for a dynamic Regional Safety Manager who will add to the team and continue to raise the bar in client service, safety, and growth. As the Safety Manager, you will work with the Corporate EHS and Site Operations to successfully integrate EHS into the functional operation of the facilities by implementing processes, systems and procedures to prevent injuries to our associates and to facilitate and maintain regulatory compliance at the facility. You will also partner and collaborate with the client's EHS team, and their operations leadership team to champion and develop a 'World Class' injury free safety culture. Additionally, you'll lead, initiate and manage a philosophy of continuous improvement in environmental, health and safety areas. Limited overnight travel will be involved as well as presentations to internal and external clients.  PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES  Responsible for compliance in all aspects of the Health, Safety, Environment and Security regulations as well as process safety at the site Leads and maintains an integrated management system based on “Responsible Care Management System" from Corporate EHS&S, incl. policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable law, regulations and guidelines Ensures compliance with national and local EHS regulations Ensures that the company personnel are adequately trained with respect to EHS matters Establish EHS goals for the facility’s and develop programs to achieve the goals Reports on an annual/monthly basis key performance indicators Coordinate internal audits as required to ensure the management system is being adequately followed on both sides Leads communication on learning from internal and/or external incident investigations and ensure integration of the new learning Leads Hazard Analysis initiatives Intensely focused on customers  REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES  Hands on work experience in warehousing, waste industry or manufacturing, 3-5 years of prior management experience in EHS area required Solid knowledge of EHS law, regulations, standards Strong managerial, technical, interpersonal and communication skills Proven leadership and influencing skills Strong business and EHS process orientation Analytical skills and experience in Project Management work A problem solver passionate about achieving results Very sharp, innovative and accustomed to 'figuring it out' Experienced with complex environments - e.g. multi-state, large employee base, diverse customer base with unique demands  COMPENSATION The annual base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $97,000, depending on experience.
